On the same webpage you will see the photographs that you have uploaded to your profile. You can add any image you like to those photographs. It can be a photograph, an interesting landscape view or a postcard downloaded from the internet or personally made by you.

Sending The Postcard

Choose one of the pictures and click on it. You will see a new webpage where you can type in your text (at the very top of the page). Please remember that this is only a postcard and your message should be short, 100 characters at the most, which is only slightly longer than a standard SMS. All you have to do now is to click on the ‘Send Postcard button’ and in a few seconds your addressee will receive your postcard and your profile will move to the top of the catalogue.

You can also send a postcard directly from the profile of the person you’re interested in. At the top of the profile page there’s the ‘Send Postcard’ link — it’s right under the user name and the city where the user lives. The procedure is same as described above: choose a postcard, type in your message and send it.

A Piece of Advice

Instead of a landscape or another standard postcard, you can send your own photo as a postcard. This way your addressee will instantly see who sent the postcard (and this is a great chance to make a good first impression!) and you can also be sure that she has never before got a postcard like this and never will, unless your first postcard will grow into something bigger.

For example, if you like sports, show that: pick one or two photos where you are skiing, swimming in the pool, etc. If you have a pet, you most probably have been photographed with it. Do you have a hobby? Do you like drawing or stamp collecting? Do you spend your spare time fixing a car or cooking a feast? Show how you do it and what the end result is: a delicious dinner, a work of art, etc. Have you gone on vacation recently? Show where you have been. Do you love your job? Show your work place. If you have a child, have his or her photo ready as well. There’s no need to make this photo available to all visitors, but keep it ready for the one with whom a more serious relationship will develop.

Among the photographs there should be some that are full-length portraits as well as some which show your face clearly. If you feel uneasy about your appearance, do not put those photos up for everyone to see, but send them only to those with whom you communicate. If you are not very happy about your looks, select the photos that make drawbacks less obvious: for example, loose-fitting clothes hide a full figure; if you think that your nose is too long, do not use photos showing your profile, etc. If you have a chance to hire a professional photographer, have several photos taken — best of all, portraits. A good photographer will know how to emphasize the good looks and how to cover up the problems. But do not go overboard trying to conceal what you don’t like about yourself otherwise the personal encounter with you might disappoint your chosen one.

Make Yourself Understood

When you write a message, try to use the language that your addressee understands. If you find this hard, TAU2 can help: in the text of postcard or letter the addressee will have a link to a free electronic translation of your message. In any case, it is better if you know beforehand in what language to write. It is not a good idea to switch the language of the interface on the page for sending postcards or letters as in this case you will lose all the information about the addressee and will send the message to yourself instead.

Where To Start

Now you know another, very effective and easy, way to make your profile go to the top of the list. Look through the profiles, choose the person you like and send a postcard. Who knows, maybe this message will be the start of your love story.

You can see on which page of the catalogue your profile is located now by clicking on Account Details on the left. By clicking on More info you will see the detailed information about the status of your profile: how often you send and receive letters, how many profiles you look through, how often your own profile is visited.

If you like, you can send a postcard or a letter without having your profile move to the very top of the catalogue. You can turn off the automatic movement of your profile on the page where you write the text of your message: it is enough to check the appropriate option (above the Send Postcard button).
